Please wait that the issue is ready to be worked on before submitting a PR, we don’t want to waste your time.

## Issues and labels
|
||||
|
||||
Our bug tracker utilizes several labels to help organize and identify issues. Here’s what they represent and how we use them:

- `browser bug` - Issues that are reported to us, but actually are the result of a browser-specific bug. These are diagnosed with reduced test cases and result in an issue opened on that browser's own bug tracker.
|
||||
- `confirmed` - Issues that have been confirmed with a reduced test case and identify a bug in Bootstrap.
|
||||
- `css` - Issues stemming from our compiled CSS or source Sass files.
|
||||
- `docs` - Issues for improving or updating our documentation.
|
||||
- `examples` - Issues involving the example templates included in our docs.
|
||||
- `feature` - Issues asking for a new feature to be added, or an existing one to be extended or modified. New features require a minor version bump (e.g., `v3.0.0` to `v3.1.0`).

- `build` - Issues with our build system, which is used to run all our tests, concatenate and compile source files, and more.
|
||||
- `help wanted` - Issues we need or would love help from the community to resolve.

## Bug reports

A bug is a _demonstrable problem_ that is caused by the code in the repository.

Feature requests are welcome. But take a moment to find out whether your idea

fits with the scope and aims of the project. It’s up to _you_ to make a strong

case to convince the project’s developers of the merits of this feature. Please
|

provide as much detail and context as possible.

||||

## Pull requests
|
||||
|
||||
Good pull requests—patches, improvements, new features—are a fantastic
|
||||
help. They should remain focused in scope and avoid containing unrelated
|
||||
commits.

**Please ask first** before embarking on any **significant** pull request (e.g.

implementing features, refactoring code, porting to a different language),

otherwise you risk spending a lot of time working on something that the

project’s developers might not want to merge into the project. For trivial

## Reporting issues
|
||||
|
||||
We only accept issues that are bug reports or feature requests. Bugs must be isolated and reproducible problems that we can fix within the Bootstrap core. Please read the following guidelines before opening any issue.
|
||||
|
||||
1. **Search for existing issues.** We get a lot of duplicate issues, and you'd help us out a lot by first checking if someone else has reported the same issue. Moreover, the issue may have already been resolved with a fix available.
|
||||
2. **Create an isolated and reproducible test case.** Be sure the problem exists in Bootstrap's code with a [reduced test cases](http://css-tricks.com/reduced-test-cases/) that should be included in each bug report.
|
||||
3. **Include a live example.** Make use of jsFiddle or jsBin to share your isolated test cases.
|
||||
4. **Share as much information as possible.** Include operating system and version, browser and version, version of Bootstrap, customized or vanilla build, etc. where appropriate. Also include steps to reproduce the bug.
|
||||

## Notes on the repo
|
||||
|
||||
As of v2.0.0, Bootstrap's documentation is powered by Mustache templates and built via `make` before each commit and release. This was done to enable internationalization (translation) in a future release by uploading our strings to the [Twitter Translation Center](http://translate.twttr.com/). Any edits to the docs should be first done in the Mustache files and then recompiled into the HTML.

- Try to submit pull requests against the latest `*-wip` branch for easier merging

[Source maps](https://web.dev/articles/source-maps) (`bootstrap.*.map`) are available for use with certain browsers' developer tools. Bundled JS files (`bootstrap.bundle.js` and minified `bootstrap.bundle.min.js`) include [Popper](https://popper.js.org/docs/v2/). All CSS files work for both LTR and RTL layouts thanks to logical properties—simply set `dir="rtl"` on your HTML element.

1. Run `npm install` to install the Node.js dependencies, including Astro (the site builder).

2. Run `npm run test` (or a specific npm script) to rebuild distributed CSS and JavaScript files, as well as our docs assets.

3. From the root `/bootstrap` directory, run `npm run docs-serve` in the command line.
